Powerboat Guide Review
The Shamrock Open Center Console was first introduced in 2000 and the 270 Open was one of just a few straight inboard center consoles produced in those or recent recent years. Nothing beats inboard power for day in, day out dependability and this is a market that Shamrock dominated for many years. This boat is "built like a rock"- overbuilt would be a better description and the fit and finish is very good. The 270's console is large with plenty of space for flush mounting electronics. Under the console is a stand up head compartment with head sink and shower. Features include 2 in deck insulated, removable fishboxes, transom bait prep station, raw water washdown, gunnel rod holders, cockpit rod storage molded bow pulpit and a beefy transom door with gate. A heavy boat with a comfortable ride, the 270 will cruise in the 20 knot range and top out in the high 20's and with her low hour 315 HP Yanmar diesel, fuel consumption is minimal.
