On deck

The cockpit is arranged around a large U-shaped seating area aft, paired with a removable table that can convert the space for dining or lounging. To port, there's a wet bar with a sink and optional refrigerator or icemaker, making it easy to entertain without going below. The helm sits forward on the starboard side, with a double-wide seat and space for modernized electronics if updated. Visibility from the helm is generally good, and controls are laid out within easy reach. A molded staircase provides safee and easy access from the swim platform to the cockpit compared to ladder-style entries.

Below deck

The layout follows a two-stateroom, two-head configuration. The forward stateroom has a full-size island berth with storage underneath and hanging lockers along the sides. It also has direct access to the forward head, which includes a separate shower stall. Aft, the mid-cabin functions as a second stateroom with twin beds that can typically convert into a larger berth, along with its own seating area and access to the second head.

Main salon

Sits between the two cabins and includes a convertible sofa/dinette to port and a galley to starboard. The galley is equipped with standard features such as a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, two-burner cooktop, solid-surface countertops, and ample cabinetry for storage. Entertainment components and a central vacuum system were commonly included as standard or typical factory equipment for this model.

Standard mechanical and comfort features on the 44 Sundancer include twin inboard V-drive engines (often Cummins diesels), a generator, reverse-cycle air conditioning and heat, and a hot water system. The boat also comes with a windlass anchor system, trim tabs, and shore power connections. A hardtop with integrated lighting and optional camper canvas enclosure extends the usability of the cockpit in different weather conditions.

Overall, the 44 Sundancer is laid out to support extended weekends aboard, with clearly defined living spaces, practical storage, and systems that were designed to make the boat relatively self-sufficient for cruising.
