In addition, your boat wonââ¬â¢t smell like gasoline fumes and you wonââ¬â¢t have to worry about volatile gasoline vapors blowing up the boat.
In addition, compared to the other diesel-powered Sea Ray 420s out there, this boat was optioned with the larger 420 HP Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines! Why is this important? Because generally speaking an engineââ¬â¢s longevity is a function of the load in which it was run at. IE: generally speaking an engine run all the time at 100% load will not last as long as the engine run at 75% load. So, when the same boat is offered with multiple engine options - go with the larger engine! The larger engine will need to run at less of a load compared to the smaller engine in order to achieve the equivalent speed. Bottom line: prefer the larger engines that were easier used over the smaller engines that were ratted out! This is a major upgrade!
