Extensive 2016 Refit
This 1980 23' Sea Ox underwent a comprehensive, keel-up refit in 2016 by Daniels Boatworks. The structural work began with a Douglas Fir, egg-crate-style stringer system, fully encapsulated with heavy-duty fiberglass cloth and West System epoxy. The deck and transom were also completely replaced using non-rot composite materials, fiberglass cloth, and West System epoxy. A new 95-gal aluminum, below deck fuel tank was added also.
A custom helm console was added, featuring flush-mounted electronics, dedicated seating, and ample storage. The cap was completely replaced, and the entire boat was professionally painted. Additional upgrades included new wiring, bonding, electronics, and soft goods, resulting in a thoroughly modernized and structurally sound platform.
2026 Refit
Fast forward to 2026, and the boat received another significant refit. The underlying structure remained in excellent condition following the 2016 work, allowing the focus of this latest refit to be on cosmetic updates, electronics, and propulsion.
The 2026 upgrades include refreshed cosmetics throughout, full AwlGrip paint job, upgraded Garmin electronics, and a brand-new Suzuki 200 HP outboard.
With its extensive structural refit, new paint, updated systems, modern electronics, and new power, this boat represents a completely updated classic 23' Sea Ox.
