The Scarab 255 Open ID is a 25-foot center console boat from Scarab Jet, designed as an evolution of the popular 195 model with an innovative tailgate. This new model emphasizes family-friendly functionality, combining versatility for water sports, cruising, and fishing. Its design integrates industrial aesthetics with practical utility, resulting in a boat that accommodates multiple passengers comfortably and supports a variety of recreational activities.

Exterior Design and Deck Layout

A standout feature of the Scarab 255 Open ID is its transom tailgate, which significantly enhances the boat’s utility. The tailgate, measuring 21 inches in height, is supported by gas-assist struts and secured with latches at both ends, ensuring smooth operation. Covered with optional soft marine matting, it forms a spacious platform ideal for launching water sports. The aft deck measures 3 feet 7 inches fore and aft and 5 feet 4 inches wide, complemented by a small 10-inch step deck for boarding from floating docks. Stainless steel reboarding ladders are mounted both under the platform and optionally at the center when the tailgate is lowered. Forward of the transom, two bench seats with removable backrests allow flexible seating arrangements, including stadium-style backward-facing seats for spectators or sun pads when the cushions are removed. The bow features U-shaped seating with foam in-wall bolsters and removable backrests that convert into forward-facing chaise lounges. A filler cushion can transform this area into a sun pad.
