Its relatively high freeboard—38 inches forward and 34.5 inches aft—contributes to a deep and safe cockpit, enhancing stability and protection in various sea conditions. This design choice results in a heavier vessel compared to others in its class but prioritizes ride quality and seaworthiness without sacrificing much speed.

Exterior Design and Hull Characteristics

Measuring 24 feet in length overall with an 8-foot 6-inch beam and an 18-inch draft, the Sailfish 245DC features a unique variable deadrise hull design. The hull incorporates three different deadrise angles at the transom, ranging from approximately 22 to 24 degrees, with a slight concavity that helps cushion the ride in choppy waters. This configuration balances a deep V forward for smooth passage through waves with flatter sections aft for increased stability and speed.
