The Sabre 36 Express was one of Sabre's most successful models that put them on the map in the Express cruiser market. They were produced from 1996 to 2006. She went through a major design change in 2000 thereafter referred to as the MK-II. The bottom skeg was removed, the deadrise increased to 18 degrees, and the prop pockets introduced. This was all to handle the increase in power plants that were becoming available to make her a better riding boat and more fuel efficient. . The original 300hp Cats cruised at a comfortable 20knots. Her topsides remained the same with that classic downeast profile that still turns heads as she approaches any harbor entrance. The flag blue hull is the color of choice here with white deck and grey contrasting non-skid.
Her cockpit is very comfortable for a party of 4 to 6 guests. There is an aft facing seat and plenty of room for a couple chairs. The Pompanette helm seat as well as the matching companion seat can swivel around so the Captain can be part of the conversations. She has a wonderful sight line when piloting the boat. The visibility is great as the boat runs at a very low angle to the water.
Down a few steps and you enter the heart of this boat. The Mahogany woodwork is beautiful and the workmanship impeccable. To port is a very well equipped galley with a two burner cook top and a microwave oven. The stainless steel sink and Corian countertops add a nice contrast to the Mahogony wood. Opposite is the U-shaped dinette that can seat four. Just forward is the entrance door to the head and shower which is quite large for a 36' boat. The bow stateroom has hanging storage lockers and drawers for all your clothes. The V-berth is huge with the filler in place and plenty of walk around room when its out.
