GORGEOUS AND LOADED WITH "NEW" STATE OF THE ART "ZEUS" POD-DRIVE SYSTEM.....IN STOCK.....CALL TODAY
Sabre Yachts Design Team presented the Sabre 42 Hard Top Express to the boating public at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2003. From that time forward she has been one of the most sought after Sabre motor yachts.
Her helm deck is a careful study in ergonomics, surrounded by large opening windows and overhead hatches for maximum ventilation and light. Views for the helmsman and crew are virtually unobstructed. The Stidd helm and mate's chairs, covered in Ultraleather upholstery, provide a degree of comfort rarely found in competitors yachts. To add to cruising comfort, our engineers have reduced noise and vibration levels with a careful study of engine room ventilation and insulation.
Wide side decks with large diameter stainless steel hand rails, custom stainless steel portlights, line chocks and air intakes, a standard rope chain windlass and highly polished aluminum hatches all add to the beauty and functionality of her deck. A double anchor roller makes anchoring work a breeze.
An optional hard back enclosure closes off the helm deck from the cockpit with the addition of two elegant curved windows in the corners, a sliding window to port and an aluminum entry door.
Below decks her hand-crafted cherry interior adds to the sense of luxury, evident throughout. The master stateroom berth is low and wide, making it both comfortable and easy to access. The head with stall shower has private access from the stateroom and from the salon.
The main salon is configured with a long L-shaped settee and a custom, maple-inlaid salon table. The guest stateroom to starboard is equipped with a pull out double berth, many drawers and lockers.
Her galley is equipped with an electric cook top, convection microwave oven and offers ample storage for extended voyages.
Sabre Yachts has now launched the first Sabre 42 Hard Top Express with Cummins Zeus pod drives. The sea trial results for this new and innovative drive system exceeded the expectations of this Maine based boat builder. Coupled to an intuitive joystick, the Cummins Zeus system ââ?¬Å?changes everythingââ?¬ï¿½ said Dave Newcomb Sabre Yachts Head of Engineering. He went on to say that ââ?¬Å?Pod drives eliminate the conventional shafts and rudders associated with modern motor yachts. In their place are articulating pods which provide vectored thrust. Exhaust gasses and the associated noise are released below the water creating a quieter operation both for the crew and those observing the boat at speed. Due to the increased efficiencies of the thrust angles, fuel savings of as much as 20% can be realized at some speeds. Overall, this new model can run at 34 knots with a pair of Cummins 425HP QSB diesel engines whereas the traditional shaft driven boat runs at a top speed of 33 knots with larger 540Hp engines.ââ?¬ï¿½ Brenda Collins, Sabre Yachts National Sales Manager said that ââ?¬Å?At maneuvering speeds the operator uses a Joystick which allows the vessel to move in any direction that the operator chooses. Docking and maneuvering in tight quarters is unmatched by any other drive system. Total novices can dock this boat with just a few minutes of training. I myself, an experienced boater, but one who does not typically dock the boat, docked this boat without any problem after just a few minutes at the helm.ââ?¬ï¿½
Sabre Yachts has been building sailing yachts since 1970 and motor yachts since 1990.
Sabres modern facilities are located in Raymond, Maine where 170 associates work and in Rockland, Maine where 110 associates are employed in all phases of boat building.
These pod drives are like nothing the recreational boating industry has seen since the advent of the stern drive.
