The classic 41 Roughwater is a traditional, rugged, sea kindly, Ed Monk designed pilothouse trawler. Early models were built with wood upper structures and decks and solid fiberglass hulls. Powered with a single Perkins 185 hp diesel the 41 Roughwater will cruise efficiently at around 9 kts. The hour meter shows 519 hours on the engine.
The traditional interior has been upgraded and customized in a retro flare that is just plain beautiful. High gloss teak interior contrasts tastefully with the white interior paint and the custom checkered tile. All interior soft goods are in excellent condition. It all blends together to create a clean and comfortable living space. The boat sleeps 7 in two private staterooms and a pull out sofa bed in the salon. The aft cabin sleeps 4 in port and starboard double berths and has a private head with a separate shower stall. The forward V berth sleeps 2 and has a private head.
The current owner has owned Kirantha for 16 years but has stopped using the boat. He has invested in the upkeep and upgrades over the years and in recent years has turned to other interests. The owner reports minor repairs are necessary to the house and the varnished rails are ready for recoating. There is some minor paint bubbling on the house, port and starboard. The bimini and the rear isinglass panel on the back deck are in good condition, but the isinglass on the two rear side panels will need to be replaced.
