The optimal cruising speed was found at 3,500 RPM, where the boat traveled 26.8 miles per hour while consuming 10 gallons of fuel per hour, equating to 2.6 miles per gallon and a range of 325 miles with a 10% fuel reserve. Acceleration was brisk, with the boat planing in 3.2 seconds, reaching 20 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds, and 30 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds. Maneuverability tests showed the R247 to be nimble and responsive, holding smooth turns without cavitation during hard maneuvers. The hydraulic steering integrated into the engines offers adjustable power assist, and the motors trim up to 81 degrees for complete water clearance.
