REMARKS FROM SELLER RE: HISTORY OF BOAT/PERFORMANCE
Heresââ?¬â?¢s a a bit of history on this boat. Ã? The reason this boat has a diesel engine is that Volvo Penta, who put the configuration together, wanted to demonstrate to the boating industry the benefit of having a diesel engine on a small boat. Ã? The idea, as I understand it, proved too expensive in the industry at that time. Ã? A diesel engine would add $20-30K more than a gas outboard. Ã? After a couple of years of demo at boat shows, Volvo decided to sell the boat at which time I purchased the boat directly from Volvo Penta. Ã? Ã? So I am the first and only owner of this boat. Ã? Because it was owned by Volvo Penta, they marketed the Volvo Penta brand and in doing so removed all Robalo signage from the boat. Ã? So, yes, this is a unique boat and while many who come in contact with this boat would be keen on it, only a specific few will likely be looking for a 22ââ?¬â?¢ boat with a diesel engine. Ã? Itââ?¬â?¢s a configuration that is literally one of a kind and has to be marketed as a special boat.Ã? This boat has a ââ?¬Å?jack driveââ?¬ï¿½ instead of a transmission. The transmissions at that time could not handle the torque of a diesel engine.
Fuel burn: Ã? Approx. 4 gal per hour at cruising speed. Ã? In a full day of fishing, on a plus 60-70 mile trip to the offshore fishing grounds, this boat will burn a mere 8 - 10 gallons of fuel. Ã?Â
Speed: As to speeds, I have it as high at 37 MPH.  I cruise it about 25-30 MPH and she remains on trim well below 15 MPH. "
Ã?Â
NOTE: NO TRAILER/BOAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN INSIDE RACK STORED/ NO BOTTOM PAINT
