Should the weather turn bad, the entire upper deck can be quickly converted into a weather- proof, climate controlled salon. Below decks, the interior layout of the 42 Sport Couple includes a forward owner's stateroom with island queen bed, and an aft (midcabin) stateroom with twin berths and a pocket door for privacy. A U-shaped sofa and full-service galley occupy the salon which is notable for its high-gloss cabinetry and excellent headroom. The cockpit can be entered from both sides of the extended swim platform, and the center section of the deck lifts hydraulically for complete access the the engines and drives. The hull of the 42 Sport Coupe was designed specifically for Volvo's IPS drive system. A good performer with relatively small engines, she'll cruise efficiently at 25 knots (low 30s top) with twin 300hp IPS diesels
