The 33 SAV is a collaboration of features and options dedicated to achieving the title, the ultimate go anywhere action-packed model perfect for any activity. This unparalleled versatility, combined with premium luxury results in an unrivaled, do-it-all, outboard powered day-yacht with overnighting capabilities. We call it the Sports Activity Vessel™.
The Regal 33 SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) is a multi-use dayboat that incorporates Bow-Rider & Center Console features in a crossover cruiser suitable for fishing and entertaining. With her fiberglass hardtop, centerline helm, cockpit dive door, and seating up front and aft, the 33 SAV looks a lot like a center console. The hull windows and elevated helm profile suggest something different, however; step below and enter a roomy mid-cabin interior with a forward settee that converts into a double berth at the touch of a button.
-The enclosed head compartment even includes a separate stall shower, a complete surprise. There are three individual seats at the helm, each equipped with flip-up bolsters and flip-down armrests. Fishing features include an oval 20-gallon livewell in the port aft corner, transom rod holders, under-gunwale rod racks, an insulated in-deck fishbox, and fresh and raw water washdowns.
- Forward in the cockpit is an entertainment center with a refrigerator, sink, electric grill, and stowage drawers. Note that the deck layout is asymmetrical with a port side deck providing access to the bow. Fit and finish is flawless. Twin Yamaha F300 outboards cruise at 24-26 knots (40+ knots top).

Regal 33 SAV: BoatTEST Review
Overview
The Regal 33 SAV, or Sports Activity Vessel, is a versatile boat designed to excel in multiple roles including day boating, multi-sports activities, fishing, diving, and overnight cruising. This all-new model from Regal combines thoughtful design with practical features to accommodate a wide range of boating lifestyles.
Exterior Design and Cockpit Features
The 33 SAV features a full-beam swim platform at the stern that integrates seamlessly with the outboard engines, avoiding the common issue of platforms extending awkwardly around engines. The platform includes an 8-inch pull-up cleat and a starboard reboarding ladder, freshwater shower, and a step up to the cap rail for easy boarding from fixed piers. Access to the cockpit is through a 20-inch wide starboard gate with a magnetic catch, leading into a spacious 4 foot 7 inch by 6 foot 8 inch open cockpit. Fixed seating is located to starboard, complemented by a flip-out bench recessed into the transom and an aft-facing lounge with wraparound bolsters and storage beneath. Beverage holders are integrated into the cap rails. The cockpit entertainment area includes a Corian countertop, barbecue grill, sink, refrigerated drawer, and ample storage and trash compartments. The extended hardtop, standing 6 foot 10 inches high, provides protection over the 18-inch wide port side deck, which allows safe fore and aft transitions. The hardtop supports are integrated into the cabin sides and include grab handles, while a drop-down 28-inch TV is concealed between them and can be linked to the helm display.
Day Boating and Multi-Sport Capabilities
The 33 SAV is well-equipped for active day boating and multi-sports use. Fishing amenities include a transom-mounted insulated bait well that doubles as a cooler or fender storage, five flush-mounted rod holders, and LED spreader lights for night fishing. Horizontal rod storage is located under the portside gunnels, with pull-out hoses for fresh and raw water washdowns. The in-deck fishbox is macerated and sized to hold four dive tanks, supporting diving activities. A standard portside dive door provides convenient dock access and recesses into the bulwarks for safety. The bow seating area is U-shaped with forward-facing two-across seats, flip armrests, and storage beneath the seats. Beverage holders and grab handles are thoughtfully recessed to maximize comfort, and the upholstery throughout features diamond-patterned stitching and custom embroidery.
Interior Living Spaces and Overnight Accommodations
Below deck, the 33 SAV offers comfortable overnight accommodations with a queen-sized mid-cabin berth and a forward area that converts to seating at the touch of a switch. The interior features wide-planked engineered wood decking and ample storage, including a hanging locker and center deck storage. An opening port light provides natural ventilation, and the main electrical panel is conveniently located by the companionway ladder. The galley includes a microwave, storage, and a Fusion stereo system. The head is well-appointed with a hull-side window, vessel sink, electric flush toilet, and a separate walk-in shower with fiberglass lining, teak seat, and decking, distinguishing it as a dry head rather than a wet head.
Power, Performance, and Helm Ergonomics
The 33 SAV is powered by twin Yamaha outboard engines available in 300 or 350 horsepower configurations. The minimalist engine well is free of excess rigging and deep enough to allow full tilt of the engines. Under the deck, space is allocated for batteries, pumps, the generator, and optional equipment such as the SeaKeeper gyro. The helm features a large single-piece windshield with an electrically actuated vent, a soft-touch dash designed to reduce glare, and room for two 12-inch multifunction displays. Controls are ergonomically arranged with engine controls, bow thruster joystick, trim tab rockers, and VHF radio positioned for ease of use. Seating accommodates three individuals with flip-down armrests and bolsters, complemented by a flip-down footrest and a pull-out Yeti cooler tray. The helm design facilitates comfortable standing and observing with strategically placed grab handles and footrests.
Specifications and Performance Data
The Regal 33 SAV measures 34 feet 2 inches overall with a beam of 10 feet 4 inches and a draft of 35 inches. The boat's empty weight is 11,750 pounds, with an estimated test weight of 12,458 pounds including one-quarter fuel and two people aboard. Powered by twin Yamaha F300 engines turning 17-inch by 15.5-inch Saltwater Series II propellers, the vessel achieved a top speed of 48.6 miles per hour at 5,800 RPM. The best cruise speed was 31.2 miles per hour at 4,000 RPM, with a fuel burn of 22.5 gallons per hour, yielding approximately 1.4 miles per gallon and a range of 281 statute miles while maintaining a 10% fuel reserve from the 225-gallon total capacity. The boat planes quickly, reaching planing speed in 3.3 seconds, 20 mph in 5.8 seconds, and 30 mph in 9.5 seconds. Handling is stable with a comfortable 14-degree roll into turns. Safety features include a 33-inch deep cockpit and a 7-inch cap rail extension that raises the freeboard to 6 feet 6 inches.
Conclusion
The Regal 33 SAV is a multifaceted vessel that successfully integrates the demands of active day boating, multi-sports, fishing, diving, and comfortable overnight cruising. Its thoughtful design offers easy access around the boat, ample storage, and a high level of safety with generous freeboard and secure deck layouts. Powered by reliable Yamaha outboards and equipped with a well-appointed helm and living spaces, the 33 SAV stands out as a versatile and capable sports activity vessel.
