Manufacturer Provided Description

The Rampage 30 Express features a hull made of pre-impregnated end-grain balsa, sandwiched between layers of fiberglass and resin for superior strength and insulating qualities. The roomy, self-bailing cockpit area was designed for fishermen with all the features experienced anglers demand, including a 38-gallon baitwell, a swing-out walk-through transom door, full coaming bolsters, a fully equipped bait-prep station with an insulated fish box that is both removable and macerated, and fresh and raw water washdowns. The high-tech helm features full instrumentation including an engine synchronizing gauge and hour meters, and an aluminum steering wheel that tilts out to provide easy access to wiring and electronics. The 19-degree, deep-V hull together with the choice of either twin diesel or gas power, gives this boat impressive performance and handling in all conditions. With fuel and fresh water capacities of 250 and 31 gallons respectively, the 30 Express delivers impressive cruising range. Engine inspections and maintenance are a breeze thanks to the electrically actuated engine hatch. The large, uncluttered engine compartment is both lighted and sound insulated. Belowdecks, the 30 Express is finished in cherry wood and gold hardware, and features such amenities as a settee lounge that converts to upper and lower sleeping bunks with rod storage beneath; a roomy double V-berth forward with a cedar-lined hanging closet; a complete galley with refrigerator, microwave, storage drawers, and cabinets; and a full-sized head featuring a tile floor, a standup shower, and a built-in vanity with sink and storage.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

Pros

Performance and Handling: The Rampage 30 Express is known for its solid performance on the water. Its deep-V hull and powerful twin engines provide excellent maneuverability and stability, making it a reliable choice for both casual cruising and sport fishing.

Fishing Features: Designed with anglers in mind, this model boasts a spacious cockpit equipped with rod holders, live wells, and plenty of storage for fishing gear. The boat’s layout facilitates easy movement, maximizing accessibility while reeling in your catch.

Comfortable Cabin: The cabin area is designed for comfort, featuring a well-appointed galley, sleeping accommodations, and head space. This makes it ideal for weekend getaways or longer fishing trips, allowing for a more enjoyable on-board experience.

Quality Construction: Built with durability in mind, the Rampage 30 Express features high-quality materials and craftsmanship, ensuring longevity and resistance to marine wear and tear.

Versatile Usage: Whether you're looking to fish, cruise, or just enjoy a day on the water, this boat’s versatile design caters to various activities, appealing to a wide range of boating enthusiasts.

Cons

Size Limitations: While the 30-foot size is suitable for many, it may be limiting for larger groups or those seeking extensive storage and facilities. The space can feel cramped, especially during longer trips with multiple passengers.

Fuel Consumption: The twin-engine setup, while powerful, can lead to higher fuel consumption compared to smaller, single-engine boats. This could be a concern for budget-conscious boaters.

Wind Exposure: The express design means less protection from wind and spray compared to more enclosed models, which could affect comfort in harsher weather conditions.

Maintenance Requirements: Like all boats, regular maintenance is essential to keep it in optimal condition. The engines and systems require attention, which can be time-consuming and potentially costly.

Age Considerations: Being a 2001 model, potential buyers should consider the age of the boat and any wear and tear that may have occurred over the years. A thorough inspection is necessary to ensure that all systems are functioning properly.
