Simple, Reliable, Straight Inboard with a Volvo V8 with Closed Cooling!
If you understand the meaning of expressions such as, "Less is more", or "Better'is the enemy of Good Enough", you will be able to appreciate the value proposition offered by this Rampage 24 Express.
Powered by a single, full-circuit fresh water cooled Volvo Penta V8 in straight conventional inboard configuration, the boat promises civilized performance, simplicity of maintenance, and long useful life all in one package.
Thanks to that driveline layout, the midships location of the engine hut allows plenty of room in the cockpit abaft for fishing while also itself offering a seating location.
In that cockpit are a pair of fish boxes, under-gunwale rod storage and rod holders, downrigger mounts (downriggers included) and the overhead radar arch has a set of rocket launcher rod holders as well.
At the helm, single lever throttle/shift is nice to have for any single inboard boat, as experience will show, and the electronics include radar, GPS and VHF radio, as well as remote controlled sound system and anchor windlass. All that is necessary, little that is not, less is more.
Down in the cuddy cabin you've got an adult sized V-berth that comfortably naps two, fresh air ventilation via overhead hatch and a concealed marine toilet.
The "Goldilocks" of small sportfishers, not too big, not too small, not too complicated, and not too expensive, this boat will prove a steal for those who truly know and understand what they are getting for their money.
