He inquired about having a custom boat done in 2002. Prout was undergoing financial strains at the time, but had been in development of a new "Flagship" mid size, bluewater Cat. The business man bought the molds and had "SAGA" manufactured, in 2004, by the Prout craftsmen, then shipped to the US. She was commissioned and launched in 2005.
Built to Lloyd's Standards, she was designed with high volume hulls which provided outstanding space and comfort. 3 Staterooms, head, ample U-shaped convertible dinette, clever Nav station / work space and lots of storage, make long passages and living aboard very comfortable. She is a must see for those looking for a high performance, mid-size, easy to handle Catamaran that has been built to a very high standard. Optimized for single handed sailing with all sheets and lines leading aft to the Lewmar #40 electric winch. SAGA also feature an additional 3 self tailing winches, twin roller furling head sails and stow away mast furling for the main.
