This 1998 Post 42 Convertible has just been listed. She has been in the care of her present owner for 12 years. In that time he has upgraded the electronics, added a sound shield to the generator and replaced the original 430hp Volvo engines with new (2022) 550hp Cummins diesels!
The Post is currently winterized on land and shrink-wrapped. Pictures coming soon!
Russell Post started producing Jersey style sport fishing boats back in 1957. They were known for their better all-around performance, maneuverability and sea keeping capabilities. Of the 750 hulls produced in a dozen or so different models, the 42 was the most popular!
Post were known for their interior craftsmanship including their extensive use of high quality teak on the interior giving a warm, comfortable feel when stepping inside. The main salon features comfortable seating in two L-shaped sofas with a galley down layout. The forward stateroom features a centerline queen with ample storage. Aft to port is the guest stateroom with upper and lower single bunks. Opposite to starboard is the head with separate shower stall. There are two large storage lockers just aft and opposite the galley.
The cockpit is spacious with excellent access to the engine room where two new (2022) Cummins diesels shine! The Westerbeke generator has a new sound shield to make evenings at anchor peaceful!
Go up the ladder from the cockpit to the large flybridge! Here there are two captains chairs with great visibility underway. The new set of Garmin plotter and radar are easily accessed the captain or mate. The forward seating allows the guest to be part of the action!
