Great Opportunity: 40 foot 1968 Plas Trend (PT 40) designed and finished by Bob Derecktor as a serious offshore racer cruiser to the traditional Derecktor standard. This boat sank at the dock in February 2014 and was refloated a week later. She has been cleaned up and appears to have sustained no structural damage. The Westerbeke Diesel and the other electrical systems are water damaged. Plan on rewiring and replacing the pumps etc.
This is a robust ocean sailor typical of the 1960's and 70's. Twin cockpits put the helm all the way aft and the sailing cockpit just forward. 13 winches are strategically placed for performance sailing with a racing crew.
Traditional below decks, she sports sea berths for six, and a galley to port at the companionway. The Westerbeke Diesel is center cabin, box is the salon table. Head is forward to port, opposite a serious wet gear locker. Fore peak is the typical V berth. Two sea berths are aft.
This boat has great bones and with a good bit of ambition, could be renovated to a serious Ocean Cruiser. This is an excellent project for an energetic sailor who is looking for a serious boat
