Other Pearson boats for sale in Massachusetts, United States
This well maintained 1972 Pearson 30, located in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
She has a renovated interior, re-finished bottom, a rebuilt engine, new prop and sails. SPARTINA has been continuously updated since 1997 and is a clean and sturdy boat. Interior cushions were new in 2000 (4" thick) and professionally cleaned every year.
The interior has been renovated with a teak and holly sole with added storage compartments and the V-birth was paneled with varnished veneer plywood. A hard dodger (epoxy/glass/oakum) was added. New solid hatch boards were added with new trim to mount a compass and house the instruments; and hooks for safety harness connections. The rudder bearings were replaced in 2010 and the rudder bracket was re-welded. The boat has a factory rebuilt Atomic 4 (2002) and all wiring and panels are new. This is a great starter boat for a young family, or anyone looking to compete in handicap racing. Robust construction and a well-balanced feel are just some of this boats attributes. The shoal draft makes them ideal for gunk-holing, and her spacious interior makes for comfortable cruising. The Pearson 30 is a fast and nimble performer in 15-20 knots and is capable enough to safely handle 20 to 35 knots with ease without being overburdened. Parts are easy to find, and everything is easy to self-maintain. Given all the recent upgrades, and the well maintained condition of SPARTINA, you will not find a finer P-30 out there.
