ARIA was built by the famous and world-renowned builder Palmer Johnson and this 87-foot sailing yacht is a gem in her class. She is a cutter design and was launched in 1975. Her first owner had her for 25-years and the second owner for two years operating her as a charter yacht. Her aluminum hull is well preserved.
The current owner has had her for 13-years and made sure ARIA was upgraded and updated with no expense spared. She recently had a complete refit lasting 20 months. She had new Awlgrip Matterhorn White paint on the hull and mast, new paint inside, new electrical, new plumbing, new electronics, new wiring replaced and separated the AC and DC, new Fisher Panda generator, refurbished Northern Lights generator, new solar panels, new rebuilt engine room, new machinery including rebuilt engines, new heads and new marble countertops, new galley with Corian countertops, new hydraulic swim platform, new certified Burmese teak decks, new Lewmar flush-deck hatches, two EPIRB's, and the list goes on.
ARIA's five cabins with ensuite heads accommodates 8 guests comfortably with 1 crew cabin. The master cabin is aft and captain's cabin is in the bow, with access to the deck through the bulkhead or through the guest cabins, the other three cabins can accommodate up to six guests in single berths.
ARIA can easily be handled by 2 people. She is truly a push-button sailing yacht. Her boom-less main sail and the headsail unfurl effortlessly and quickly. The centerboard and small aft board assist her directional stability in large swells. Both boards were fully refitted and refurbished. She is equipped with a variable pitch prop, a steering jog switch and a bow thruster. The engine was rebuilt by an official Volvo dealer, and her bronze propeller is a Hundested variable pitch. All winches were rebuilt as well.
ARIA's large, covered cockpit is excellent for entertaining guests and dining. The cockpit is just behind the helm where there is a new Vitrifrigo drinks fridge. There is a sound system and 12V outlet and USB charging ports as well. Drop down covers protect you from unpleasant weather.
The washer and dryer, space for dive tanks and gear are aft, underdeck.
