An elegant yacht in her day...as well as by today's standards...with a distinctive flushdeck profile, the pacemaker 57 Motor Yacht was one of the larger full-production yachts available in the U.S. market when she was introduced in 1977. While the hull and flybridge are solid fiberglass, with a combination of mahogany and fiberglass used in the construction of the superstructure, her decks were originally teak. However, the decks of this lady have been reworked and resurfaced using marine plywood and fiberglass...they are water tight! The interior consists of two salons, one on the lower level with a separate galley and dinette with the other on the pilot house level beneath the flybridge. The lower salon was generally used as a formal dining room, while the spacious, full-width main salon is open to the helm and extends aft nearly to the transom where there is a small afterdeck large enough for line-handling. There are two large staterooms aft with the crew quarters located in the forepeak; each with a full head. The direct access engine room makes it easy to peak in on the mechanics, while having plenty of room to look around and work. Topside, the extended flybridge has seating for a small crowd. She's powered by 8V71TI diesels with plenty of cruising life left in them and will cruise this beauty at a comfortable 12 knots while topping out in the range of 16 knots. The 2012 20kW Yamaha generator will supply all the power you need for the ship systems while underway or on the hook.
The current owner has put a lot into her since purchasing her in 2000...to the tune of about $400,000 spent in upgrades. Her entire interior has been gutted and professionally refurbished to modern standards, with most of the work being completed by Cuts & Case Shipyard in Oxford, Maryland. Of the total spent to date, $75,000 went to the main salon alone...and it is breath taking!
The bottom was taken care of in 2001, removing all blisters and applying a fresh barrier coat.
While the owner says "...she's 95% completely refurbished", she's totally useable, and livable now. This yacht will surely wow you from the moment you step aboard...she is a must see. Please call ahead though, as she is only shown by appointment.
