Other Outer Reef boats for sale in Florida, United States
BB is a unique opportunity to own a very late model 2021 72' Outer Reef Long Range Motoryacht due to a change in the owners' business opportunities, which unfortunately will curtail their cruising plans for several years. Their goal at the time of their build order was to take advantage of the extreme customization possible in the construction of a new Outer Reef. From their many years of yacht ownership, cruising experience, and extensive research and diligence, they knew that a 72' Outer Reef would be a superior yacht in high seas and heavy weather conditions, in comparison to their previous ownership of a Marlow and a Hargrave of similar lengths. The fuel capacity of 2,400 gallons allows over a 2,000 nautical mile range at 9 knots including generator use and a 10% fuel reserve, with the extremely fuel efficient 750hp John Deere engine series. Higher speeds with this yacht's engine series to 15 knots, have led owners of other yacht brands, including Nordhavns or Northern Marines, to build or purchase preowned Outer Reefs, due to the speed and draft limitations of full displacement yachts.
While the standard specifications of the 72' Outer Reef series are quite extensive, the owner's goals were to build a truly exceptional yacht, and total upgrades to systems, décor, electronics, and machinery totaled one million dollars. BB also was the first of the Outer Reef series to specify the Bridgeview Deck™ choice, which added additional seating ahead of the upper flybridge area, now an extremely popular choice on our yachts under construction. The king berth master is equipped with his/her heads, plus there are three other comfortable cabins with ensuite heads and showers, and an on-deck head.
The 25hp hydraulic and proportional bow and stern thrusters allow easy operation by a cruising couple, and the open layout of the salon, galley, and pilothouse offer exceptional visibility. However, as an additional convenience, the pilothouse can be segregated with a panel that lifts from the back of the L-shaped seating for privacy or nighttime cruising. The beauty of the interior choices for decor rendered many compliments and praise while the yacht was on display at the 2022 Palm Beach Show in late March.
As the only late model 72' Outer Reef available worldwide in essentially new condition with very low hours, BB represents a unique opportunity without the current wait of over two years for delivery of a sistership.

Outer Reef 720 MY: BoatTEST Review
Overview
The Outer Reef 720 is a thoughtfully designed yacht that combines spaciousness with advanced functionality. Its open layout and expansive windows create a bright, airy environment, while practical features enhance both comfort and operational efficiency. This vessel is well-suited for owner-operators who value both performance and livability.
Exterior Design and Bridge
The yacht features a raised pilothouse with a commanding helm station equipped with three 22-inch displays, including recessed Cat engine monitors and an autopilot system. Controls are ergonomically placed, including a remote control for the forward displays that can be operated while seated, enhancing ease of use. The flying bridge serves as both an operational hub and a social area, boasting two L-shaped seating arrangements around pedestal tables. The helm on the flying bridge includes adjustable seats with high-low positioning, fore-and-aft recline, flip armrests, and flip footrests, all providing excellent visibility. The flying bridge extends nearly the full length of the boat, making it one of the largest in its class, and is complemented by a spacious boat deck that further expands social space.
Interior Living Spaces and Private Accommodations
Inside, the Outer Reef 720 offers a master stateroom that spans the full beam of the yacht, featuring oversized opening portlights on both sides for ample natural light and ventilation. The stateroom includes extensive storage options, such as a walk-in closet and cabinetry on both sides, as well as a king-size berth. The center-mounted head is conveniently located to port. The pilothouse can be separated from the galley area by a partition, which is particularly useful at night to reduce glare for the operator.
Power and Performance
The engine room is designed with the owner-operator in mind, housing twin Caterpillar C-18 engines each producing 1,136 horsepower. The space is well-organized with storage trays and secure boxes for equipment. Two 20 kW generators are installed, one on each side, with an electrical panel positioned above that can distribute up to 40 kilowatts throughout the boat. The system also integrates hydraulic balanced stern thrusters and stabilizers, enhancing maneuverability and stability.
Conclusion
The Outer Reef 720 impresses with its combination of spacious, well-appointed living areas and advanced operational features. From the thoughtfully designed helm stations to the expansive flying bridge and efficient engine room layout, this yacht caters well to owner-operators seeking both comfort and control. Its large social spaces and practical amenities make it a versatile vessel for extended cruising.
