One of Ocean Alexander's most popular models back in the day, the 42 Sedan is a well-proportioned family cruiser with a sensible layout and a rakish, euro-inspired profile. Like most Ocean Alexander designs, the 42 was built on a weight-efficient modified-V hull with a moderate beam, a shallow keel, and cored hullsides. An appealing feature of the 42 Sedan is the large cockpit that provides ample open-air entertaining space or a great fishing platform for securing dinner! Along that note, there is a bait tank located behind the bridge ladder, multiple rod holders, and serious outriggers to boot! Of course, she has the trademark Ocean Alexander crafted parquet flooring in key areas. A retractable flatscreen TV was integrated into the roomy salon to improve upon her lounging capabilities. Her up galley has a full standing refrigerator/freezer, sink with disposal, microwave, and cooktop/oven combination. Descending forward, the bow's primary stateroom has a centerline queen bed with storage drawers beneath, generous hanging closet, and even a secondary vanity sink. A personal flatscreen TV is mounted to starboard. The full head to starboard includes a separate stand-up shower with seat. Her interior was very innovative in that a second (guest) stateroom with twin beds and storage was fitted below the slightly elevated galley. Visibility from the lower helm is very good if conditions bring you down from the flybridge. Speaking of which, a very spacious up top with twin captain's chairs, a full helm with updated dual Simrad touchscreen navigational electronics, full bimini canvas cover, isinglass, and multiple cushioned bench seating. There is also a davit but the tender's space is currently displaced with rocket launchers and a large Yeti cooler (with seat pad!). Additional features include a transom door and swim platform, serviceable side decks, and excellent interior joinery.
