"The Nordhavn 46 Long Range Cruiser is no ordinary boat it is the result of a daring concept. What makes it so is that it combines unusual sea-sense, proven commercial boat features and highly practical thinking in a design rarely offered as a pleasure boat. It is actually a small ship that will appeal to any serious-minded, long distance power cruiser." Bob Duke for Sea Magazine
Havn has recently gone through a partial refit and is currently in cruising condition. After falling on her side in a boatyard in Florida, her current owners purchased her, repaired the damage and have been cruising for the past two years. There is still cosmetic work that needs to be completed as well as some moisture in the forward deck to be addressed, but overall the yacht is sound. Owners had a structural survey on the yacht in November of 2017 that is available. This yacht offers fantastic value on today's market.

Pros
Solid Construction: Built with an emphasis on durability, the Nordhavn 46 features a heavy-duty fiberglass hull and robust structural engineering, making it well-suited for bluewater passages.
Seaworthiness: With its full displacement hull and moderate beam, the 46 offers excellent stability and a comfortable ride in rough seas.
Fuel Efficiency and Range: Equipped with a reliable single diesel engine, the boat is optimized for fuel efficiency, allowing for extended cruising ranges without frequent refueling stops.
Comfortable Accommodations: The interior layout maximizes space, providing a cozy salon, functional galley, and comfortable staterooms designed for liveaboard comfort.
Good Visibility: The raised pilothouse design offers excellent all-around visibility, enhancing safety and ease of navigation.
Proven Design: The Nordhavn 46 has a strong reputation among cruising enthusiasts for its dependable performance and timeless design.
Cons
Speed: As a full displacement trawler, the Nordhavn 46 is not built for speed and typically cruises at modest speeds around 7 to 8 knots.
Maneuverability: Its size and hull design can make tight maneuvering in marinas or crowded harbors more challenging compared to smaller vessels.
Maintenance: Being a solidly built and somewhat older vessel, ongoing maintenance and potential upgrades can require time and investment.
Interior Style: The 1989 model’s interior design and finishes may feel dated to some buyers, possibly necessitating modernization to meet contemporary tastes.
Single Engine: While reliable, the single-engine setup means there is less redundancy compared to twin-engine boats, which may be a consideration for some cruisers.
