Step aboard the Nonsuch 30 Ultra and experience sailing the way it was meant to be; simple, graceful, and unmistakably distinctive. "Sakina" is a lovely vessel that has been well maintained. She has a lovely light blue hull that sets her off from other boats, that and her unique rig with her Wish Bone boom and unstayed mast. This is a very roomy 30 footer with berths to accommodate up to 4 people. The Nonsuch 30 Ultra is a coastal cruiser designed by renowned Naval architect Mark Ellis and built by Hinterhoeller Yachts.
- The primary difference between the Nonsuch Classic and the Ultra is the interior layout and production years. The Classic features an open, social layout with opposing settees and quarter berth, while the Ultra introduces a private forward stateroom with a double Pullman berth and a separate shower compartment. The Classic was in production from 1978-1984. The Ultra production began in 1983 through 1990.
- The Nonsuch is known for her signature unstayed mast and freestanding wishbone rig, this catboat-style cruiser eliminates the tangle of standing rigging, making her remarkably easy to single-hand while still turning heads in every harbor.
- Below deck you will find a surprisingly spacious and comfortable interior. Perfect for weekend getaways or extended coastal cruising. With the Ultra her layout offer a private forward stateroom with a double Pullman berth to port, hanging locker in forepeake and counter top with drawers under to port. Private access to the head thru the separate shower stall which is aft of the built-in bureau on starboard.
- Moving aft we enter the Main Salon. To starboard is the guest access to the head where the vanity is with sink, toilet and storage outboard, forward is the separate shower stall. Opposite the head is the L-shaped galley. All the way aft one will find port and starboard settees that also serves as additional single berths. The starboard settee has an L-shape to it and may be possible to create an additional double berth. There is a shelf outboard and additional drawers and lockers aft for more storage space. the Port settee has the electric panel and cabinet outboard. Centerline is the companionway steps to the cockpit and access to her engine.
- Lovely teak cabinetry add warmth to her interior with light blue cushions and teak and holly sole. She is very well ventilated with 7 opening portlights and several overhead hatches. 6'4" headroom is remarkable in a boat of this size.
- While on deck, her wide-open cockpit invites relaxed afternoons under sail with family and friends. Her cockpit table comfortably seats six for dining. She has a T-shaped cockpit for ease getting around the centerline steering wheel with pedestal that the table and some electronics are mounted to. Teak cockpit table with 2 leaves, Propane tanks storage in aft lazarette, Manual whale Bilge pump, port and starboard lockers that are very deep and can hold a ton of equipment. She has nice wide side decks for ease in moving forward. The Nonsuch 30 Ultra delivers a rare blend of classic charm and modern ease. This is a wonderful starter boat and you may never want to move up.
