The Z21 is equipped with a Mercury 250 Pro XS two-stroke outboard paired with a 14x24 Fury stainless steel three-blade propeller. During testing, the boat achieved a top speed of 71.1 mph at 6,000 rpm, consuming 22.8 gallons per hour, which translates to a range of approximately 154 miles. The most efficient cruising speed was found at 4,000 rpm, where the boat maintained 39.9 mph while burning 9 gallons per hour, extending the range to 219 miles.
