2022 Nautitech 40 Open
Mana Kai
New Listing July 5, 2025 - Additional Photos, Video, and 360 Tour Coming Soon
(Inventory subject to owner's approval)
Mana Kai is a turnkey 2022 Nautitech 40 Open that blends high-performance sailing with exceptional liveaboard comfort. Designed by Marc Lombard and built in France, the Nautitech 40 Open is known for its narrow hulls, responsive handling, and signature open-concept cockpit that offers outstanding visibility and social space. It is a favorite among cruising sailors who want both speed and quality.
This is the desirable owner's version layout with a spacious private suite to port and two guest cabins to starboard. Mana Kai has only 400 hours on her 50 horsepower Volvo engines and is equipped for long-range, self-sufficient cruising.
Notable Features Include:
• 50 horsepower Volvo engines with saildrives (400 hours)
• Northern Lights generator
• Air conditioning throughout
• Water maker
• Solar power system
• Self-tacking jib with furling Code Zero and furling asymmetrical spinnaker
• Wide open cockpit with full-width doors connecting to salon
• Owner's version layout with private owner's suite and two guest cabins
The Nautitech 40 Open stands out for its performance and handling. Owners and reviewers report speeds in the mid-teens under sail with excellent light-air responsiveness. This is a cruising catamaran that sails like a proper yacht, without sacrificing comfort or build quality.
Mana Kai is currently located in Cambridge, Maryland, and is available for showings. She offers a rare opportunity to step into a well-equipped, lightly used 2022 model that is ready for immediate cruising.
What we loved most about this Nautitech 40 Open was how it brought together real sailing performance with comfort and thoughtful design. She sails beautifully. On a reach she feels quick and responsive, and even upwind she tracks well and makes good progress without needing constant attention. Under power, the 50 horsepower Volvos and folding props made handling in marinas and tight anchorages simple and stress-free.
The layout is what really sold us. The salon and cockpit flow together in a way that made the boat feel much bigger than it is. We spent most of our time in the aft cockpit, whether it was breakfast with the sun rising behind us, sunset dinners with friends, or just relaxing with a book. It felt like an extension of our living space, not just an outdoor area. The galley may be compact, but it is smartly laid out and surprisingly capable. The owner’s suite gave us privacy, space to store everything we needed, and even a desk for staying connected when we needed to.
The boat came with everything we hoped for in a true cruising catamaran: a generator, air conditioning, a water maker, solar, a self-tacking jib, Code Zero, and a furling asymmetrical spinnaker. The systems have been reliable and easy to maintain, and we’ve taken care to keep everything in excellent condition. She has low engine hours and has never been chartered.
Selling her is a hard decision, but our plans have shifted. We hope the next owners fall in love with this boat the way we did. She’s brought us some of our best memories on the water.
