I purchased the 35 Nauticat , because if offered the most important features for my dream. It is a strong hand layered fiberglass hull, very overbuilt hardware and rigging. She has a beautiful hand joined interior woodwork finish throughout the interior. She was built in Finland to the well respected yard Siltala yachts.
She is built for the North Sea and is a very hardy, go anywhere blue water cruiser.
"Peregrine" has an extremely livable design. Two suits,( a very roomy master) two heads , two helm stations (interior and exterior) and alot of storage. A raised salon with lots of light and opening windows. A very well laid out galley. Two sinks. A 4 cylinder Yanmar engine (60 hp), a very quiet work horse. All in a very affordable 35 ft configuration. Easy to maneuver , back up , and dock.
I purchased this 30-year-old boat that had a lot of deferred maintenance with the idea making it functionally new.
Every bit of mechanical has been replaced. Air conditioner ,generator, hot water heater and water pump. Refrigerator, complete electronic upgrade, new control panel, chart plotter, lights, fans window wipers. Also new stainless holding tanks forward and Alt cabin . Clean out fuel tanks , new gauge sending units, new fuel lines. Water tanks , new lines.
The wood interior has been refinished, new faucets in galley and heads. The rigging has been completely upgraded, new Selden furling system. The hydronic helm stations have been rebuilt.
This is a functionally new boat build on a classic, tested European design, that is not available on current modern constructed sailboats. (Reciepts available for review).
