The MOODY 376 is a well-regarded Bill Dixon design that combines the comfort & versatility of a well-built center-cockpit layout with the good sailing qualities that this Naval Architect is also famous for. Over the years, the MOODY's such as the "376" model have endured as preferred "offshore-capable" yachts that are not only a value but strongly-built as well. The "OPUS" is the 72nd example of the MOODY 376 series as produced in late 1986 as a 1987 model.

The "OPUS" is an exceptionlly rare-to-the market (after all these years!) "One Owner" yacht. She's only been lightly-cruised over the years in the New England area. Just some of the more recent major upgrades & improvements include a full "bottom job" ('12-'13) w/ a (6) coat epoxy barrier application, new upholsery and replacement headliner ('13-'14), all new thru-hulls ('11-'12), new Blue SUNBRELLA dodger & Bimini (with connector) & cockpit cushions (all done '14), LED interior lighting (bulbs & most fixtures, '14), a new stainless steel prop shaft & dripless shaft seal ('11) and the list goes on .. to include the replacement of the running rigging & the lifelines in the Summer of 2015!

The "OPUS" is being offered for brokerage sail as the Owners who have just completed their 28th Season of sailing her since "new". They are opting to transition to "cruising power" for some extended voyaging in the USA and adjacent waters. As good center-cockpit cruising sailing yachts in this size and price range are in especially short supply (and especially with this history & pedigree), inspections are encouraged for those who feel that the "OPUS" can deliver to meet your requirements that would include "offshore work", As an added benefit, the Winter Storage has been paid at our Brewer Stratford facility for the '15-'16 Season which does include her re-launch this Spring.

Cons

Older Design: Being a model from 1987, some design elements and onboard systems may feel dated compared to modern sailboats.

Maintenance Requirements: Older boats often require more upkeep, particularly with teak woodwork and aging mechanical and electrical systems.

Performance Limitations: While competent, the Moody 376 is not a racing boat and may be slower than more performance-oriented cruisers.

Limited Modern Amenities: It may lack some of the conveniences and technological features found in newer vessels unless upgraded.
