Twin Volvo Penta D3 5-cylinder, 2.4L turbocharged diesels — 170 or 220 hp each. Built using MJM's signature pre-preg, vacuum-set, oven-cured Epoxy/Kevlar/Corecell/E-glass composite construction: lighter and stronger than conventional fiberglass, with minimal long-term maintenance demands.

Why the MJM 36z

MJM designed the 36z around three principles that are rare to find together in a single boat:

One-person operation. A natural-response destroyer wheel in open water and an IPS-style joystick at idle makes docking and rough-water handling genuinely manageable solo — for either partner.

Comfortable for two, fun for a crowd. Single-level cockpit and pilothouse seats 12 on a good day, 6 in any weather. Side-opening doors and an accessible layout welcome all ages. This is a boat you'll actually use — for a sunset cruise, dinner out, watching the sailboat races, or a spontaneous beach run with the kids.

Easy to own. No exposed deck wood to maintain. Sterndrives that kick up automatically when striking an underwater object, reachable from the swim platform to clear props without going in the water, and adjustable for shoal-water navigation or full retraction for mooring in just 17 inches of water. Fits under all 21 bridges between Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale (under 9.5 ft). At 12 feet wide, she can be trucked between residences at the price of a 30-footer — no chase cars, no special routing.
