Overview
The Mastercraft X-24 is a premium towboat that represents the first model in the company's redesigned X-Series, evolving from the award-winning X-23. This new series features a comprehensive overhaul in terms of features, functionality, hull design, and wake performance, aiming to deliver versatile wave characteristics suitable for both elite athletes and beginners.
Wake and Ballast System
Central to the X-24's performance is its advanced Gen 2 surf system, which includes a six-ballast fast fill configuration. This system comprises one forward hard ballast tank, two aft hard tanks, two aft bags positioned above those tanks, and an innovative switchback tank that enables lateral ballast distribution for symmetrical wake formation. The ballast is managed by seven Johnson pumps, each capable of pumping 30 gallons per minute, allowing the boat to add approximately 4,300 pounds of ballast in under four minutes. Adjustable surf tabs at the stern control the wake profile, with independent left and right settings and a central attitude adjustment tab to manage bow rise, compensating for internal weight variations. All ballast and surf settings, along with GPS speed, are controlled via a seven-inch touchscreen at the helm, allowing operators to select from factory presets or customize wake parameters for specific riders with ease.
Power and Performance
The X-24 is powered by a single 430-horsepower Ilmor 6.2-liter GDI V8 engine. Its dimensions include a length overall of 26.2 feet, a beam of 8 feet 6 inches, and a draft of 2 feet 6 inches. Exterior Design and Deck Layout

Instrumentation includes recessed analog gauges set in billet aluminum, complemented by a 7-inch touchscreen interface for controlling ballast, surf settings, and other boat functions. Manual switches provide redundancy in case of touchscreen failure. Additional helm amenities include a phone holder, drink holders, engine key, and shifter. The main battery shutoff and breaker panel are conveniently located to the left of the helm. The boat incorporates Mastercraft's BTS windshield design, favored by water sport enthusiasts for improved communication with individuals in the water and ease of docking. The windshield sides are rounded and finished with aluminum billets that double as grab handles, and a securely fitting wind dam is included.
Interior and Storage Features
The interior layout maximizes space through a pickle fork design, providing larger seating areas and storage compartments. Forward compartments include dedicated anchor storage, while the cockpit houses multiple storage areas beneath seating. The top storage locker creatively functions as a personal flotation device warmer by utilizing engine heat. The aft-facing bench converts into a spotter seat or a large lounging area with an optional filler cushion, and a tow pylon can be installed in this area. Additional storage and utility spaces beneath companion seating accommodate batteries, a fire extinguisher, a trash receptacle, and the tow pylon base.
