Vessel Repower completed by Hinckley Sweetwater Feb 2026. The original Yanmar 6LY required extensive repairs due to a cooler failure at 500 hrs of service. As Yanmar no longer supplies the 6LY engines and limited parts availability, the owner chose to re power the vessel with the new Yanmar 4LV250 engine. Initial sea trial was just performed and the boat performance has improved with the new engine in regards to top speed (from 22 to 24mph), time to plane and engine reaches full RPM with no strain. The Repower was complete with new ZF transmission, new motor mounts and new Yanmar digital controls and includes the remaining balance of the Yanmar 2 year factory warranty.
In addition, a full strip of the hull bottom was completed and new barrier coat and bottom paint was applied. The running gear is currently being prepared for Prop Speed application post sea trial.
This boat is outfitted with the upgraded lithium battery bank with a 1500W inverter that allows vessel 120v service while cruising or at anchor.
This beautifully detailed and exceptionally built Marlow Pilot 31 is a hard top cruiser with a semi-enclosed pilothouse that is protected from the weather with large windows on both sides and opening vents in the front windows and hardtop for exceptional airflow. This comfortable couple/small family cruiser offers a cockpit with comfortable seating, storage, refrigerator and dining table. The Sea Deck swim platform extends from the hull for an overall length of 35 ft. 6 inches. She has bow and stern thrusters. This fuel efficient vessel burns 10 gallons per hour at 16 knots and 1.5 gallons at 7 knots. After David Marlow purchased Mainship, he and the design team began designing four new trawler models including the Marlow Pilot 31. They built upon some of the design ideas that came from the Mainship brand coupled with many new and innovative ideas and techniques added from his success with his Marlow Yacht brand. Marlow's Mission Statement to "Build Simply The Best" makes the Pilot 31 a sought after yacht of outstanding quality. Custom built Continental trailer is included in the sale.
