The Maritimo 48 cruises happily in the 24 to 27 knot range (27.8 to 31.3 mph) and has a range of over 500 nm @26 knots!

This is a three stateroom, two head layout below. Like all of the Maritimo Yachts, the galley is aft of the salon with sliding doors to the cockpit, so loading supplies is effort-saving, and whether the socializing is happening inside or out, the galley crew is involved in the conversation. The large comfortable saloon has two large settees, one with a foldout dining table, and there is a handy side deck access door from forward in the salon. Ambient light abounds, and the furnishings are tasteful and understated. Classic style, we know, never goes out of style.

The fully enclosed flybridge, accessed from the internal stair provides quiet, air conditioned comfort in all conditions. If the weather permits it has opening windows center forward and port and starboard, with sliding doors aft to a balcony with a docking station and a hatch overhead for complete ventilation. The Maritimo bridge features twin Stidd helm seats and a large settee aft with table, wet bar, fridge, and bottle storage.

The Owners Stateroom is located amidships with pedestal queen bed, huge storage that must be seen to be appreciated, and an ensuite head. All of the staterooms have hanging lockers, storage drawers and overhead lighting. The heads are easy to clean with separate shower stalls. The Tecma toilets can flush with freshwater or saltwater and have an integral macerator, virtually eliminating clogs. There is a third stateroom with over/under bunks. This is where the combo washer/dryer can be found.

Other features that distinguish this 48' from other, lesser boats include the wide and safe walk around side decks with thigh-high gunwales and rails - no more taking your life in your hands while transiting forward! The engine room is enormous with ease of access to all mechanical components. The transverse 950 gallon single fuel tank just forward of the engines provides incredible range, is integral to the vessel's structure, and has been engineered to be at the center of buoyancy of the boat, such that she rides at the same balance and performance parameters at virtually any fuel level. It can be filled from either side of the vessel and acts as a sound mitigator as it sits between the engine room and the sleeping cabins.

The teak laid cockpit is an entertainer's dream come true. Wide open and versatile, it features an electric BBQ, sink and eutectic freezer (deep freeze), perfect for extended cruising. There are dual transom doors, in-platform storage bins in the swim platform, fender and line storage port and starboard, and a huge lazarette with room for bikes, tables, chairs and more.

Balance is an important 'engineered-in' aspect of the design and engineering prowess that is reflected in this Maritimo. The propulsion engines are a bit farther forward in the hull geometry compared to most North American product. This accomplishes a number of desirable performance outcomes - shaft angle is very low, with no prop pockets, Maritimos achieve pod-like efficiency with a simple, highly reliable straight drive arrangement; bow rise is minimal, whether achieving plane or encountering high seas - this one is an actor, not a reactor; and all of the above result in an extremely low center of gravity so her ride and performance are the ultimate confidence builders! This is as well-executed an engine room on any craft - anywhere - under 60`, other than another Maritimo.
