"Legacy" is a seaworthy pilothouse cruiser, with dual helm stations and navigation equipment, a new Yanmar diesel engine AND all new Mack sails. Ready to go!

PRICE JUST REDUCED!

Her name is "Legacy" for a reason. Functional and beautiful, with dual helm stations and dual navigation equipment. She has very nice lines.  Designed by Eric White and Arthur Berry and built in America in 1981, she is ready to go anywhere. The current owner has owned her for over ten years, and has cruised the East Coast with her. He repowered her in 2006, and has lovingly maintained her.

The pilothouse gives the impression of being aboard a small ship, providing sunlight and ventilation inside the cabin. The galley and the nav station and helm are in the pilothouse, and then there is seating, a bunk, and storage below, all leading to a large v-berth and head with freshwater electric toilet.

Among the many great things about Legacy are:

  • ALL NEW MACK SAILS--main, mizzen and genoa
  • Dual navigation equipment at each helm station
  • New electric freshwater head
  • Yanmar engine new in 2006
  • Teak cockpit grate
  • 12 Volt refrigeration
  • New Garmin GPS Map
  • Two new VHF Radios
  • Newport by Dickinson wood stove
  • Lots of storage
  • 110 gallons of water and 88 of fuel for long-range cruising

Call me and let's go see her!

Pros

Solid Build Quality: The Mariner Pilothouse 38 features a robust hull and reliable construction, designed to handle various sea conditions with confidence.

Spacious Pilothouse: The enclosed pilothouse provides excellent protection from the elements, allowing for comfortable operation in all weather.

Good Visibility: Large windows in the pilothouse offer all-around visibility, enhancing safety and ease of navigation.

Cons

Older Design: Being a 1981 model, some design elements and onboard systems may feel dated compared to modern boats; upgrades may be necessary.

Slower Speeds: As a displacement hull trawler, it is built for efficiency and comfort rather than speed, which might not suit those looking for faster cruising.

Maintenance: Older vessels often require more ongoing maintenance and care, including potential updates to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Limited Interior Height: While comfortable, the interior headroom may be lower than newer pilothouse models, which could impact comfort for taller individuals.

Smaller Cockpit: The aft deck space is modest, which may limit outdoor entertaining or fishing activities compared to larger or more modern designs.
