This boat has just completed a major refit and reconditioning by a very particular and caring owner. Regrettably he must move on to other ventures and is offering this beautifully reconditioned vessel  for sale.

Sylvia Earle was successfully delivered from Florida to New Jersey in Fall of 2017 and was proven to be a reliable, comfortable and economical long range cruiser. Upon arriving in New Jersey, a 10 month intensive refit was begun and has resulted in a vastly improved yacht with lots of Classic appeal.

Vessel has been prepared to be a fully equipped, waterfront apartment with rental options. Owner has procured two different liveaboard slips, (One in New York Harbor, and the other in Point Pleasant New Jersey). His intent was to offer the yacht as a short term rental with Air B&B.

This opportunity would allow a berth with spectacular City and Statue of Liberty views with a parking spot for your vehicle, and access to New York City Ferry and Train Service within walking distance, all included with a well restored and fully equipped 3 S/R cruising yacht.

Vessel is offered in turn key condition having just completed a $100,000 refit.

Pros

Spacious Interior: The widebody design provides ample living space, including comfortable staterooms and a roomy salon, ideal for extended cruising or liveaboard.

Solid Construction: Built with a strong fiberglass hull and reliable craftsmanship typical of Marine Trader, ensuring durability and seaworthiness.

Classic Aesthetic: The traditional trawler lines and wood finishes offer timeless appeal and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Fuel Efficiency: Designed for economical cruising speeds, making it cost-effective for long-range passages.

Good Visibility: Elevated pilothouse with large windows provides excellent visibility for safe navigation.

Multiple Deck Areas: Generous deck space allows for outdoor relaxation and easy access to all parts of the boat.

Cons

Aging Systems: Being a 1988 model, some mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems may require updating or maintenance.

Limited Speed: As a displacement hull trawler, it has modest top speeds, which may not satisfy those seeking faster cruising.

Maintenance Intensive: The classic woodwork and older fittings can demand more upkeep compared to modern vessels.

Interior Layout: While spacious, the layout may feel dated and less optimized compared to contemporary trawlers.

Fuel Consumption: Although efficient for its size, the large displacement and twin engines can still lead to considerable fuel use over time.
