The Marine Trader 46 Double Cabin is a traditional Taiwan-built trawler with a spacious interior and comfortable ride. Like all Marine Trader models, the 46 was built on a solid fiberglass, semi-displacement hull with hard aft chines and a deep, prop-protecting keel. Below deck, the galley-down floorplan of the 46 is arranged with centerline double berths in both staterooms and a full dinette opposite the galley. A lower helm was standard, and port and starboard deck doors in the salon provide easy access to the decks. In the aft cabin, a companionway door opens directly into the cockpit-a very convenient feature indeed. While the exterior decks and handrails are teak, the window frames are aluminum to reduce leaks. The Marine Trader 46 DC is only a 20-minute drive to the New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to the Marine Trader near West End Park. The Mississippi Sound/Gulf of Mexico is accessible from Lake Pontchartrain. "Dock Bored Too" has twin Cat 3208 435 hp and will fast cruise at 17 knots.

Classic Aesthetics: This vessel showcases classic lines and a traditional trawler appearance, appealing to those who appreciate nautical heritage and style. The rich woodwork and cozy interiors create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Well-Equipped Galley: The galley is designed for functionality, featuring ample storage and counter space, making meal preparation onboard efficient. Many models come equipped with modern appliances for added convenience.
Cons
Maintenance Needs: As a 1991 model, the Marine Trader 46 may require more ongoing maintenance compared to newer boats. Buyers should be prepared for possible updates or repairs to systems and components.
Age-Related Wear: The age of the vessel means potential wear and tear, including issues with wood, plumbing, and electrical systems. It’s essential for prospective owners to conduct a thorough inspection.
Speed Limitations: While fuel-efficient, the design sacrifices speed for stability, which may not satisfy boaters looking for a faster cruising experience. The top speed is generally moderate compared to some sportier models.
Limited Modern Amenities: Depending on the specific model and upgrades, some versions may lack the modern technological conveniences or high-end finishes found in newer vessels, which could be a consideration for tech-savvy boaters.
Draft Considerations: The deep draft may limit access to shallow waters or marinas, which could restrict the cruising grounds for those looking to explore a variety of coastal areas.
