The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 2004 Mainship 390 is a popular trawler-style yacht known for its comfortable cruising capabilities and solid build quality. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Spacious Interior: The 390 offers a roomy layout with comfortable living areas, including a well-equipped galley, salon, and multiple sleeping quarters, making it ideal for extended trips.

Sturdy Construction: Built with a solid fiberglass hull, the Mainship 390 is known for durability and stability in various sea conditions.

Fuel Efficiency: Designed as a trawler, it typically offers good fuel economy at cruising speeds, which is beneficial for long-range voyages.

Easy Handling: Its design includes a single inboard engine and a manageable size that makes docking and maneuvering more straightforward compared to larger vessels.

Good Visibility: The pilothouse offers excellent 360-degree visibility, enhancing safety and ease of navigation.

Ample Storage: Plenty of storage space is available both above and below deck, accommodating gear and provisions for extended trips.

Cons

Speed Limitations: As a trawler-style boat, the 2004 Mainship 390 is not designed for high speeds and typically cruises at a modest pace.

Aging Systems: Depending on prior maintenance, some onboard systems such as electronics, plumbing, or engines may require updates or repairs due to the boat’s age.

Limited Outdoor Space: While comfortable inside, the outdoor deck areas are somewhat modest, which may be a drawback for those seeking extensive open-air entertaining space.

Engine Power: With a single engine setup, redundancy is limited, which may be a consideration for some long-distance cruisers.

Fuel Capacity: Although efficient, the fuel tanks may limit extended non-stop runs without refueling depending on cruising speed and conditions.
