"Designed for comfortable coastal cruising, the Mainship 34
Trawler combines a salty profile with sturdy construction and a practical single-stateroom interior. Many will see the 34 as the ideal boat for the cruising couple-easily handled in tight quarters, easy to maintain, and reasonably easy on the wallet. Built on a semi-displacement hull with a full keel, the galley-down layout of the Mainship 34 results in a notably spacious salon. A serving counter (with two stools) overlooks the galley, and a convertible sleeper-sofa is available to accommodate overnight guests. The U-shaped galley has all the amenities required for preparing meals including generous storage and Corian counters. Forward, the stateroom has a centerline double berth and space for an optional TV, and the double-entry head compartment includes a separate stall shower. Note that a lower helm was optional. On deck, the Mainship's wide walkways are covered by a bridge overhang. Note: that the engineroom access hatch beneath the flybridge stairway is a tight fit. A single 240hp Yanmar diesel will cruise efficiently at 8 knots (12-3 knots top)."

Pros
Spacious Layout: The Mainship 34 features an open and well-thought-out interior with ample living space, including a comfortable salon, galley, and a private stateroom.
Fuel Efficiency: Designed for economical cruising, its efficient hull and diesel engine provide good fuel economy, making it ideal for long-range trips.
Solid Construction: Known for its sturdy build quality, the boat offers durability and a sense of security in various sea conditions.
Easy Handling: With its manageable size and single-engine setup, the 34 Trawler is relatively easy to handle for both new and experienced boaters.

Good Visibility: The elevated pilothouse offers excellent 360-degree visibility, enhancing safety and ease of navigation.
Ample Storage: Plenty of storage compartments throughout the vessel allow for comfortable extended cruising.
Cons
Speed Limitations: As a true trawler, the Mainship 34 is designed for steady cruising rather than speed, typically maxing out around 8-9 knots.
Limited Headroom in Some Areas: Some parts of the interior, particularly below deck, may have lower headroom which can feel cramped for taller individuals.
Basic Electronics (Stock): Depending on the original configuration, onboard electronics might be more basic compared to newer models, potentially requiring upgrades.
Single Engine Dependence: While easier to maintain, reliance on a single engine means less redundancy in case of mechanical issues.
Limited Outdoor Deck Space: The exterior deck areas are functional but not expansive, which can limit outdoor entertaining or sunbathing.
Age Considerations: As a 2008 model, potential buyers should be mindful of maintenance and possible updates needed to systems or equipment over time.
