Want a powerboat or a sailboat? Honestly, it's the best of both worlds with this 2002 MacGregor 26X PowerSailer. You can have a quiet sail or the capability of cruising with the Suzuki 50 H.P. Four Stroke Engine at speeds up to 20+ M.P.H. with exceptional fuel economy. The ability of the MacGregor 26X to navigate Florida's shallow waters (min draft is .75ft and 5.5 ft with the centerboard down) means you can go places other sailboats cannot go and do it with 3 to 4 times the speed of other sailboats on motor power. When you are ready to sail, you just fill the water ballast tank by opening and closing a valve, put down the centerboard and then have a quiet sail. If you see one of those nasty Florida squalls coming in over the horizon you just drop the sails, fire up the motor, and make good speed to the safety of a sheltered harbor.
For the inland/shore cruiser that wants to explore (even shallow waterways), sail, and move fast when you want to...this is a dream boat as these boats are so flexible in what you can do with them. Finally, she has a spacious cabin and cockpit with a great layout and equipment and the boat comes with its trailer to haul it over the road to whatever destination you might want to travel to. The boat is in very clean condition and ready to go and even has air conditioning that can cool you off when you get back to the dock and plug in!
(Note: you will notice in the B&G chartplotter picture that we were able to still move at 16.5 MPH with water in the water ballast tanks.)
