Stunning Black Hull that shows like new! Every conceivable option! Trailer Included!
The MacGregor 26M replaces the popular 26X Power Sailor and now includes a rotating mast and twin rudders. Under sail she carries an additional 1,150 lbs of water ballast, which is one of the beauties of this vessel. He empty weight without mast & cushions is only 2,600 lbs and the trailer is 720 lbs. Her generous size, which offers great comfort aboard, is much lighter for trailering behind a smaller tow vehicle. After launching, fill up the water ballast tank and she is self-righting and ready to power or sail. With the large outboard you can expect speeds up to 22-25 mph. Want to go sailing? Lower the daggerboard for good windward upwind sailing and hoist the sails and enjoy the wind and weather on a hot sunny day. This boat is quite versatile with wheel steering, a walk-through transom with easy access to the water for a swim with a boarding ladder, or just getting on and off the boat when on the trailer. Down below she has a double forward berth, huge double aft stateroom, portside long settee berth, starboard side short settee berth/seat, a galley and an enclosed private head.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 2013 MacGregor 26M offers a versatile and unique sailing experience with several advantages and some considerations to keep in mind:
Pros
Versatility: The 26M is a hybrid power-sailboat, equipped with both a retractable keel and a powerful outboard engine, allowing for easy transition between sailing and motoring.
Speed: With its powerful engine and sleek hull design, it can reach impressive speeds under power, making it ideal for day cruising and quick trips.
Trailerable: Its relatively lightweight and trailerable design enable easy transport and storage, expanding your cruising options.
Spacious Interior: Despite its size, the 26M offers a comfortable cabin layout, including sleeping accommodations, a galley, and a head, making it suitable for overnight trips.
Shallow Draft: The retractable keel allows for shallow water navigation and easy beaching, increasing access to diverse waterways.
Cons
Complexity: The hybrid design means more systems to maintain, including both sailing rigging and a powerful engine setup.
Performance Under Sail: While capable, its sailing performance may not match that of dedicated sailboats of similar size, especially in light winds.
Storage and Space: Although spacious for its size, interior space is still limited compared to larger cruising sailboats, which may affect comfort on longer voyages.
Engine Noise and Fuel: Relying on the engine for power cruising can lead to higher fuel consumption and noise compared to pure sailing.
Market Niche: Being a specialized model, resale and aftermarket support may be more limited compared to more conventional sailboats.
