One of the top-selling small convertibles ever produced, the breakthrough feature of the Luhrs 36 was her molded flybridge steps in the starboard corner of the cockpit. Rather than climb a near-vertical ladder, a staircase made bridge access easy and safe-an innovative concept soon picked up by other convertible manufacturers. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 13'10" beam and flared bow, the 36 boasts a very spacious interior. The two-stateroom, galley-up floorplan is arranged with a queen berth forward and an over under bunk in the guest cabin to starboard. A separate shower stall is found in the head, and a U-Shaped settee/dinette is to port in the spacious salon. The engine room is accessed through a hatch in the salon sole.
