With her rugged New England aesthetic, Tucker is the kind of vessel that commands attention in every harbor she enters, trading modern styling for the functional beauty of a traditional working tug. Designed by James Backus, this late model Victory Tug 37 prioritizes true seaworthiness with a tall, flared bow built to shed heavy seas, a full length ballasted keel and a signature rounded pilothouse that provides the captain with 360-degree visibility. Her canoe-style stern-inspired by classic double-enders-allows her to handle following seas with a level of grace rarely found in contemporary flat-transom designs.
Powered by a dependable 150hp Cummins diesel, she cruises efficiently at 7 knots with an impressive 800-900 mile range and a top speed of 9 knots.
As hull number 67 of only 76 delivered, this vessel features the updated salon and galley layout designed for cruising. The accommodations consist of a forward master stateroom with an custom enlarged berth and starboard seat, followed by a port-side head and a separate starboard shower and sink. The pilothouse includes a complete helm station with Dutch doors on either side and a raised settee that converts into a 6’6” single berth. This elevated seating provides the great visibility to operate the vessel under autopilot while seated. The main salon offers 6’6” of headroom and an has an L-shaped settee with an expandable table that seats six or converts into a double berth. Custom shelving provides storage throughout the interior, while engine room access is available via the pilothouse hatches, the forward stateroom stairs, and a swing-out galley locker.
