The most economical cruise speed was 26.5 miles per hour at 3,500 RPM, burning 7.7 gallons per hour and extending the range to 310 miles. The boat demonstrated quick planing, achieving plane in 3.5 seconds and accelerating from zero to 30 miles per hour in five seconds. Handling was responsive and predictable even in rough, windy conditions, aided by advanced hydraulic steering from Evinrude.
