Hobo is a well maintained Kaufman 49 cutter rig with beautiful lines quite similar to a Swan.  Many upgrades include new white Awlgrip topside and new dodger and bimini in 2010, NavPod w/Garmin 4212 w/XM radio weather at helm, new Yanmar 75 hp engine installed in 2004 (presently 650 hrs), new sails in 2006, new salon upholstery in 2008, recent stainless steel deck hatches, one electric Rartan head.  The galley was reconstructed with new insulation using state of the art Glacier Bay (R-50) panels and Frigoboat 12 volt systems. The bottom had a complete barrier coat in winter of 03/04 and latest antifouling bottom job was in 2012.  Viking 4 man life-raft was registered in Feb 2012.

Pros

Sturdy Build Quality: The Kaufman Cutter features a robust fiberglass construction that offers durability and longevity, making it a reliable choice for cruising.

Excellent Performance: Designed with a full keel and a powerful rig, this cutter is known for its stability and efficiency under sail. It handles well in varying conditions, making it ideal for both novice and experienced sailors.

Spacious Interior: The interior layout is thoughtfully designed to maximize space, providing ample room for living and storage. The cabin typically includes comfortable sleeping quarters, a galley, and a head, offering a cozy atmosphere for extended voyages.

Classic Design: With its traditional lines and charming aesthetics, the Kaufman Cutter is appealing both at the dock and under sail, reminiscent of classic sailing yachts.

Versatile Usage: Suitable for both short trips and long-distance cruising, this vessel caters to diverse sailing needs, from weekend getaways to longer journeys.

Cons

Maintenance Requirements: Like any older vessel, the Kaufman Cutter may require more maintenance than newer boats. Owners should be prepared for periodic upkeep to maintain its performance and aesthetics.

Age Considerations: Being a boat from 1986, potential buyers should carefully inspect the vessel for wear and age-related issues, such as rigging, electronics, and structural integrity.

Limited Speed Compared to Modern Designs: While it performs well, the Kaufman Cutter may not match the speed or agility of newer, high-tech sailing designs, which could be a consideration for those seeking racing capabilities.

Weight: The solid construction, while a pro for stability, can make the boat heavier, which may affect its performance in light winds compared to lighter designs.

Availability of Parts: As a classic model, some parts may be harder to find than for more recent yachts, potentially complicating repairs and replacements.
