The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 2019 Kadey-Krogen 44AE is a well-regarded trawler yacht known for its sturdy construction, efficient design, and comfortable accommodations. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Solid Construction: Built with a robust full-displacement hull, the 44AE offers excellent stability and seaworthiness, making it ideal for long-range cruising.

Efficient Performance: Powered by a reliable single diesel engine, it delivers good fuel economy and a cruising speed typically around 8-9 knots.

Spacious Interior: The layout includes a comfortable salon, fully equipped galley, and ample sleeping quarters, providing a home-like feel onboard.

Easy Handling: The pilothouse design offers excellent visibility and intuitive controls, making maneuvering in tight spaces straightforward.

Low Maintenance: The use of quality materials and thoughtful engineering reduces upkeep demands compared to other vessels in its class.

Good Range: With large fuel tanks, the 44AE supports extended cruising without frequent refueling stops.

Cons

Price Point: Kadey-Krogen yachts tend to be on the higher end of the price spectrum, which may be a consideration for budget-conscious buyers.

Speed Limitations: Being a full-displacement trawler, it is not designed for high speeds, so passage times can be longer compared to faster motor yachts.

Single Engine: While efficient, the single engine setup means there is less redundancy, which may be a concern for some long-distance cruisers.

Limited Outdoor Space: The focus on interior comfort means outdoor deck areas are more modest compared to some other cruising yachts.

Weight: The solid build contributes to a heavier vessel, which can affect trailering options and requires careful handling in certain conditions.
