1988 Jefferson 60 Motor Yacht
$140,000 - AS IS / WHERE IS / HOW IS
This vessel is sold as a project boat
The Jefferson 60 Motor Yacht was designed around exceptional interior volume, substantial construction, and comfortable long-term living aboard. Built in Taiwan to compete within the American market against Hatteras and Viking motor yachts of the day. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a long, deep keel and a substantial 17'6" beam, she offers the kind of space rarely found aboard a 60-foot motor yacht.
The spacious layout is one of her greatest strengths. A remarkably large salon, expansive aft deck, salon-level day head, four staterooms, five heads, and an oversized flybridge provide the living and entertaining space normally associated with considerably larger yachts.
After approximately a decade of living ,cruising, and resolving aboard, the seller is stepping away from boating, creating an opportunity for a knowledgeable and hands-on yachtsman looking for a exceptional amount of boat at an attractive price.
The seller has continually completed numerous behind-the-scenes repairs and upgrades throughout his ownership and many remain. As anyone familiar with classic yachts knows - the list is never truly finished. There are additional cosmetic, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical items to address, and the vessel is being offered accordingly.
The boat runs and performs and currently travels the ICW locally several times each month.
Powered by twin Detroit Diesel 8V92TI engines rated at 735 HP each with approximately 2,400+ original hours. Economical cruise at 8-9 knots. Fast cruise speed is approximately 15-16 knots and a top speed of approximately 18 knots.
A particularly notable feature for a yacht of this vintage and price point is her two operational 21 kW Phasor generators, both installed not too long ago.
She is also equipped with a Wesmar electric bow thruster.
Electronics included with the sale are limited to:
No other electronics are conveyed with the purchase. Buyers should plan on iPad w/ Navionics and updating the navigation electronics to suit their own cruising requirements.
The interior remains largely original and presents as tired. Excellent opportunity for a new owner to refresh the yacht to their own taste -making it their own.
The teak flooring would benefit from sanding and varnish. Areas of the master stateroom could benefit from new veneer, vinyl, or wrap, while bedding and soft goods are due for replacement throughout. The forward stateroom would also benefit from fresh wall covering.
Several exterior areas of the gelcoat are showing thin and would benefit from cosmetic attention - roll and tip treatment. The walkways could use a fresh coat nonskid, while other areas would benefit from localized awl-grip touch-up and refinishing.
This is not being represented as a turnkey yacht. She needs TLC. This is Project Boat
For the right buyer - someone knowledgeable, handy, and willing to take on a project yacht - she presents an opportunity to make improvements over time and bring the yacht up to their own standards.
