Overview
The Velasco 43 is a versatile new yacht designed to accommodate a variety of cruising needs. Featuring a two-stateroom, two-head layout, the yacht offers flexible living arrangements with a salon that easily converts to accommodate additional guests. Its design emphasizes openness and natural light, achieved through numerous windows and high overheads, creating an airy atmosphere throughout the interior. The galley-up configuration keeps the chef engaged with social areas, enhancing the onboard experience.
Main Deck and Galley Features
The main deck showcases innovative design elements focused on functionality and comfort. On the port side, the galley is equipped with ample counter space featuring solid surface countertops and an aluminum splash board. It includes a double burner stove with pop-up fiddles, an oven beneath, a sink, and abundant storage with drawers that close automatically. Opposite the galley is the refrigerator, while between these two areas there is additional storage, a combination washer-dryer, and access to the bilge compartment as well as electrical buses and pumps. A dedicated compartment provides generous storage for dry goods, complete with pull-out drawers, shelves, and even a freezer, catering well to extended cruising needs.
Salon and Cockpit
The salon features U-shaped seating complemented by a lounger opposite and a centrally placed table with fold-out leaves. This table can be lowered and converted into a berth using filler cushions, enhancing guest accommodation options. An electric lift-mounted television adds entertainment value. The interior benefits from a headroom of six feet, seven inches, and multiple materials contribute to a refined ambiance. Triple-wide opening doors spanning five feet, one inch provide a seamless transition between the interior and exterior spaces. The cockpit measures 11 feet, eight inches across and five feet, five inches fore and aft, serving as an inviting gathering area. It features contrasting peak decking against white bulwarks and a track system for enclosing the cockpit under the extended overhead for weather protection. Seating for four across includes storage beneath, with space allocated for a life raft to port. The full-beam hydraulic swim platform extends three feet, five inches from the transom, facilitating watercraft launches and reboarding via concealed ladders.
Flybridge and Exterior Amenities
Accessed via a starboard-side ladder from the cockpit, the flybridge offers an additional entertainment and relaxation venue while preserving interior space. The aft deck includes a double-wide sun pad providing panoramic views for lounging. To port, a U-shaped settee surrounds a table, allowing guests to socialize within conversational distance of the helm. The forward section features a reversible seatback that converts to forward-facing seating for two, preferred during navigation. Opposite this seating area is a wet bar equipped with a sink and space for an optional grill, with a refrigerator and storage below. The flybridge deck is finished in teak, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. At the bow, two sun pads rest on a raised platform that increases headroom in the master stateroom below while sloping downward to preserve helm visibility. Twin stainless steel rails provide safety around the bow area.
Private Accommodations
The master stateroom is appointed with an island berth flanked by wall-mounted lamps for artificial lighting. Natural light enters through hull-side windows and overhead skylights, which include screens and blackout shades for comfort and privacy. The master head features a separate walk-in shower, an opening port light for ventilation, a frosted skylight, and a recessed sink set into a solid surface countertop. The day head is located to starboard, while the guest head mirrors the master head's layout. The guest stateroom contains twin berths with overhead clearance ranging from 28 inches to 23 inches, complemented by a hull-side window with an opening port light, ensuring adequate ventilation and natural light.
