NEW Jeanneau EX 34 HardtopOpen-Air Adventure. Serious Cruising Capability. Ready When You Are.
Meet the all-new Jeanneau EX 34 Hardtop, the first model in Jeanneau's completely new EX range and a fresh interpretation of what a 34-foot adventure boat can be.
Open, versatile and remarkably capable, the EX 34 Hardtop combines the freedom of an open boat with the protection of a substantial hardtop, the performance of twin outboards and - unusually for a boat of this type - two separate cabins and a private head below deck.
The result is a boat designed to do far more than one thing well.
Cruise the coast. Spend the day at the sandbar. Fish offshore. Carry paddleboards and adventure gear. Entertain friends. Or pack a bag and disappear for the weekend.
EX is ready when you are.
A Completely New Jeanneau
The EX isn't simply another version of an existing Jeanneau. It represents a new model range built around a straightforward philosophy: concentrate on what makes boating enjoyable and eliminate unnecessary complication.
The name brings together two defining ideas - the Elements, representing a boat designed to embrace the sea, wind, sun and changing conditions, and the Essential, focusing on the things owners genuinely need to enjoy their time aboard.
Jeanneau has developed a new purpose-designed deep-V hull specifically for the EX project, with an emphasis on seaworthiness, stability, intuitive handling and efficient ownership.
Jeanneau describes the new EX line as being equally approachable for experienced boaters and those discovering boating for the first time - an easy-to-understand boat intended to encourage owners to simply get aboard and go.
Open to the Sea
Where the EX 34 Cabin emphasizes enclosure, the EX 34 Hardtop is deliberately open.
The substantial hardtop provides shade and protection over the central living and helm areas while maintaining wide openings to the water. Jeanneau's design effectively creates three interconnected open living areas beneath and around the hardtop, producing the feeling of a much larger boat.
On beautiful days, the boat can remain almost completely open to the breeze.
When conditions change, a quick-deploy soft enclosure provides additional protection without fundamentally changing the open character of the boat. Jeanneau specifically designed the system to be deployed or stored quickly, allowing the boat to adapt as conditions change.
It's the best of both worlds: the connection with the water of an open boat with considerably more protection than a traditional center console.
40+ Knot Performance
Beneath the EX 34 is an entirely new hull developed specifically for the EX range.
Its purposeful deep-V form combines a plumb bow, sculpted topsides and a relatively contained beam with an infu-jection hull structure engineered for stiffness and quality. Jeanneau emphasizes stability, security and seaworthiness as fundamental characteristics of the new design.
Twin outboards with up to 350 HP each provide a maximum of 700 HP and speeds exceeding 40 knots, giving the EX 34 the performance to cover serious distances when the day's plans call for something more adventurous.
Jeanneau's official description emphasizes the same qualities: responsive control, straightforward handling and an unobstructed view from a helm designed for both standing and seated operation.
Five Living Spaces. Endless Possibilities.
The EX 34's clever deck plan divides the boat into five distinct living spaces:
- Aft swim platforms
- Aft cockpit
- Central saloon and galley
- Protected helm station
- Forward cockpit and lounge
Rather than isolating these spaces, Jeanneau has designed them to flow naturally into one another. The deck-plan diagram in the marketing book particularly highlights the clear circulation routes from the swim platforms through the cockpit and forward along the integrated starboard side deck.
The effect is important: 34 feet feels like considerably more than 34 feet.
Guests can be relaxing forward while others gather around the cockpit table, someone prepares lunch beneath the hardtop and another group swims from the stern - without everyone competing for the same space.
The Cockpit Changes With Your Day
This may be the defining feature of the Hardtop.
Instead of deciding whether you want a cruising boat, entertaining boat or watersports platform, the EX 34's aft cockpit adapts to what you're doing.
The seating arrangement can incorporate a bench that converts into a large sunbed, creating an inviting lounging area immediately beside the water.
Configure the cockpit differently and an available GRP table turns the space into an outdoor dining and entertaining area. Multiple lockers and a dedicated fishbox provide substantial storage for everything that comes aboard for the day.
For entertaining, an available cockpit wet bar incorporates a sink and optional grill or gas plancha. For fishing, the same area can incorporate an optional saltwater livewell with circulation pump and deck wash.
Morning fishing trip. Afternoon at the sandbar. Sunset dinner aboard. One boat.
Bring the Toys
The EX 34 Hardtop is also designed for owners whose boating doesn't stop when they reach their destination.
An optional roof rack provides storage for paddleboards and other recreational equipment, while the hardtop itself is available in two configurations.
The standard arrangement incorporates a sliding roof hatch and space for optional solar panels. Alternatively, an electrically operated soft top creates an even larger opening overhead while retaining the ability to add the roof rack.
Jeanneau specifically promotes the roof as a place for boards and bikes, reinforcing the EX 34's positioning as an adventure platform rather than simply another weekend cruiser.
A Forward Lounge With a View
The bow isn't merely somewhere to stand while handling lines.
Available forward cockpit cushions create a dedicated seating area surrounded by substantial rails, with cupholders close at hand. Cleverly positioned glazing also allows natural light from the bow area to reach the cabin below.
Add the optional infill cushions and the entire area transforms into an expansive forward sun mattress - creating a second major relaxation area completely separate from the aft cockpit.
That separation makes an enormous difference when spending an entire day aboard with family or friends.
A Helm That Becomes Part of the Party
The EX 34's versatility continues beneath the hardtop.
While underway, the electrically operated pilot bench faces forward toward the helm. Once you arrive, its folding backrest allows the seating to face the saloon table instead, transforming the navigation area into a social space.
The helm itself is clean and contemporary, with Garmin navigation, a sports steering wheel, VHF and controls arranged within easy reach. The open-sided Hardtop configuration provides exceptional visibility and immediate connection with the surroundings.
It's a particularly clever solution because valuable space dedicated to navigation while underway doesn't become wasted space once you reach your destination.
More Than a Day Boat
The biggest surprise comes when you step below deck.
Despite the EX 34 Hardtop's open, sporty character, Jeanneau has managed to incorporate two cabins, four berths and a separate head into a boat measuring just over 34 feet overall.
The forward cabin offers a double berth surrounded by natural light from opening and fixed glazing, together with a hanging locker and generous storage. Available equipment includes an additional drawer refrigerator and microwave.
A separate aft cabin provides additional overnight accommodation, while the dedicated head incorporates a washbasin, marine toilet, shower and storage.
That changes the way you can use the boat.
What starts as a Saturday afternoon on the water can easily become an overnight escape - or a long weekend exploring the coast.
A Proper Galley for Longer Days Aboard
The central galley adds another level of cruising practicality.
Standard equipment includes a sink, drawers and useful storage, while available upgrades include a 90-liter refrigerator and a gas burner or 230V vitroceramic cooktop.
Combined with the cockpit wet-bar options and additional refrigeration available elsewhere aboard, the EX 34 can be configured as a surprisingly capable entertaining and weekend-cruising platform.
Made for the Southeast
For boating in Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas, the EX 34 Hardtop's concept makes particular sense.
The substantial roof provides essential shade during hot summer days while preserving the open-air experience that makes boating in the Southeast so appealing. When afternoon weather arrives, the quickly deployed enclosure provides additional protection.
Its relatively shallow 2'9" draft including the propellers suits exploring coastal waterways, while 158 gallons of standard fuel capacity and twin-outboard performance give owners the flexibility to travel beyond their immediate cruising grounds.
Add paddleboards on the roof, fishing equipment in the cockpit and an overnight bag in the cabin and the EX 34 becomes precisely what Jeanneau intends it to be:
a boat that encourages you to use it more often.

One Boat. However You Want to Spend the Day.
The Jeanneau EX 34 Hardtop occupies an interesting space in the market.
It has the openness and accessibility of an adventure boat, the protection of a hardtop, the performance of a twin-outboard sport boat and the accommodations of a genuine weekend cruiser.
Go fishing at sunrise. Take the family to the beach. Carry paddleboards for an afternoon exploring. Entertain friends around the cockpit. Run 40+ knots down the coast. Then, rather than heading home, stay aboard.
That's what makes the EX 34 different.
Open when you want it. Protected when you need it. Comfortable enough to stay aboard.
