Falkor is lacking nothing, she is ready for her next owner. She is very well set up for single handed sailing as well as racing with full crews. All of her lines and controls are well laid out in the spacious cockpit. She has a generous Genoa (North Sails, 3Di) on a furler as well as in mast furling for the main (North Sails, Dacron). An electric winch in the pit makes easy work of sail handling. Two additional Harken winches have been added to increase the versatility of the cockpit for racing, flying Code 0's or spinnakers. A full complement of new B&G instruments (2-Triton2 Digital Displays) and autopilot controls (2-Triton2 Autopilot Controllers) at each helm station are a joy to use. The B&G Zeus3 (9") Chart Plotter is conveniently mounted on a NavPod swivel. Falkor has also been updated with a highly reliable Em-Trak AIS Transceiver and Receiver. She features jib leads that are adjustable from the cockpit and a traveller, allowing you to fine tune your sails. A Forespar whisker pole is safely mounted on the stanchions and is easily deployable when doing some downwind sailing. And for some added safety her owner has equipped Falkor with a Walder Boom Brake.
The cockpit features a nice dodger and bimini combo to help you stay comfortable regardless the weather. She has a large cockpit table with storage that is perfect for entertaining. Teak on the settees makes for comfortable lounging if you are not using the new cockpit cushions aboard. At the stern is a large locker for a life raft that doubles up as a great storage locker for things like wetsuits and snorkeling gear. A roomy swim platform folds down giving great access to the swim ladder. A new Magma Rail Mount Propane BBQ is in place to handle all of your grilling needs. Lastly, there is a large cockpit lazarette of to port.
Falkor features roomy side decks with good sized toe rails to keep you secure while at sea. The bow is roomy and comfortable. A new Quick Electric Windlass w/wireless remotes is a great tough making anchoring singlehanded a breeze. The Windlass is paired with a new Spade anchor, 300' of chain and a bridle set up. There is also an additional Fortress anchor that can be set up on the doable anchor roller upfront or as a stern anchor, it comes with 300' of rode.
Her owner has installed a Balmar serpentine belt conversion for the Yanmar diesel, making the alternator run more efficiently, reliably and quieter.
Falkor's 3 blade folding propeller is a great touch for light wind days off our coast.
She has 600 Watts of solar panels that are mated to all new electronics down below, a Victron Charge Controller for the Solar Panels, Victron Battery Chargers (Shore Power and DC), Renogy 500A Battery Monitor and an Inverter. A ProSafe Zinc Saver Galvanic Isolator helps keep the vessel protected while afloat, especially in busy marinas. The engine is paired with a AGM starter battery. While the house batteries are made up of 3 Lithium Ion Batteries totaling 300Amps. A framed flatscreen in the saloon is great for relaxing and entertaining. Music is handled by the Fusion Bluetooth Stereo System with speakers both on deck and below.
The saloon is bright and spacious. The settee converts into a double bed, great for lounging around or extra guests. Lockers and cabinets are throughout and offer more than enough space to hide all of your gear. The chart table has convenient storage below for your plotting tools and maps.
Both cabins are great spaces. The v-berth forward and the aft cabin to starboard have 12volt and usb chargers installed. Hanging lockers and storage space is generous. Both cabins are well-lit and gave excellent ventilation.
This vessel has an absolutely huge head (dry) for her size. It leads to a very accessible storage garage off to port. The head has been upgraded with a Marine Elegance Electric toilet, it is quite, compact and offers a full sized bowl with a fully programable Smart Flush Control Module. Her owner has also converted her to a system allowing you to switch between freshwater and saltwater flushing (electronically controlled).
Lastly, the galley aboard is both large and well laid out. It features a dual burner propane stove, propane oven, dual stainless steel sinks, microwave and a top loading freezer/fridge combo. The well sized fiddles are great for when it gets rough, giving you secure surfaces to grab on to. Storage is both convenient and abundant.
