Illusions is the perfect boat to single-hand but has plenty of room for two or even four. In our opinion, she is the largest 29 ft. boat you will ever set foot on. This Island Packet sailing vessel is roomy, spacious, comfortable, and is built for ocean sailing conditions. Illusions has completed a  single-handed 5 year cruise throughout the Eastern Caribbean. A new engine and fuel tank were installed in 2013. With the wind generator, solar panel, and five AGM batteries in the house bank, you can anchor in that deserted anchorage without worrying about running the engine to charge the batteries.

She is equipped to take you on that extended cruise you have always dreamed about! Please read the full specifications!

Pros

Sturdy Build: The Island Packet 29 features a robust fiberglass hull with a full keel, providing excellent durability and stability, making it well-suited for offshore cruising.

Comfortable Interior: The boat offers a spacious and well-designed interior for its size, with thoughtful layout including a comfortable v-berth, a functional galley, and ample storage.

Easy Handling: With a manageable sail plan and responsive steering, the Island Packet 29 is approachable for both novice and experienced sailors.

Good Load-Carrying Ability: Its full keel and solid build allow it to handle heavy loads without sacrificing performance, which is ideal for long-distance cruising.

Classic Aesthetics: The traditional lines and teak accents give the boat a timeless, classic appeal.

Cons

Moderate Speed: Due to its full keel design and heavier displacement, the Island Packet 29 is not a fast boat, especially in light wind conditions.

Draft Limitations: The relatively deep draft may restrict access to shallow anchorages or certain coastal areas.

Older Systems: Being a 1992 model, some onboard systems and equipment may require updates or maintenance to meet modern standards.

Limited Cockpit Space: The cockpit is somewhat small compared to newer designs, which might affect comfort during extended time on deck.

Higher Maintenance: Traditional teak woodwork and classic fittings can require more upkeep compared to modern materials.
